STUDIO I
This subject is an introduction to architectural design. This module aims to present and explain the design through the expression of the perception of self and the body which is the Anthropometric. There are 3 projects in this module, project 1 - Self- expression through Object "Representing Me" , project 2 - Sheltering a person in Architectural Space " A Temporary Shelter" and project 3 - Dreamspace for the user "Space For Self".
Project 1 - Representing Me
This project required students to produce one abstract artwork to represent them. From this project student can learn to generate design concept through exploring various sources or abstract artwork then utilise process oriented approach involving sketching and model- making as a tool of generating ideas. For this project I have chosen fortune telling to represent myself as it is interesting and challenging. From this project I developed thinking and problem solving skills which is think critically and creatively to solve the problem I faced in this project.
Project 2 - A Temporary Shelter
This project were completed in Port Dickson, a private beach. This project required a group of member to build a temporary shelter for a group member. From understanding the Anthropometric, physical and mental needs of the chosen member to make the shelter for him. This project was very tough for us, but in the same time we get to learned that the importance of teamwork and well arrangement of time. We have been spending sleepless night to complete this project, although the grade wasn't good but I think that what we experience is more important.
Project 3 - Dream Space
This project required us to do a dream space for yourself. I chosen fortune telling as theme like project 1. From this project, student get to learn about developing design idea then understand anthropometric of human and make this hideout for theirself. This project make me understand the importance of locate, extract, synthesize and utilize information effectively.
