PROJECT 1 - Research Proposal & Experience and Capture

For food and culture assignment project 1, it is separated into two parts. Part A - research proposal & part B experience and capture. But lecturer suggested students to start with part B first, to have a few times of site visit to the site and documentation the interesting part of the site. For my group, we have chosen Petaling Street as our site, I personally like that area and went there for site visit for a few times. I went with groupmates for 2 times to experience and enjoy the food and ambience of Petaling Street, not only the street, we still walk around that area to find interesting event or nice food around. Then I personally went there during night time to explore the speakeasy bar around the area and had some nice food too.

After the site visits and production of video, we are asked to write a research proposal that relate to our next project. This research proposal should research on the topic that we think are interesting and in-depth about the site. For me, instead of talking about the dine in ambience or setting, I decided to write about speakeasy bar and how it affect the night life in Petaling Street.

PROJECT 2 - Interpretation and Analysis

For project 2, as I mentioned it is related back to the research proposal. Students are expected to analysis the topic relevant places or elements in the site and analysis it based on the topic. As I have chosen Speakeasy bar as my topic, I went most of the speakeasy bars in Petaling Street to take photo and observe the places, so I can analysis this place afterwards.
